ABOUT THE ORPHANS AND VULNERABLE CHILDREN
In Uganda where war and poverty are a part of everyday life, children are interested in going to school, but do not have the means to do so. They are in towns and villages that are without schools or libraries, without electricity, without running water, no access to education... little hope for a real future.
Tender Mercies Outreach Foundation has over 800 AIDS orphans and vulnerable children being sponsored in different schools throughout Uganda and we've identified more students that need our help. Some of these are provided with all their school needs including tuition, while others can only be provided with scholastic materials
We compile a list, photos, amount of funds needed and information on each student. Tuition and needs vary for each child.
Tuition alone is not enough. Many of our students do not have any help from relatives or friends and as a result live in lack and are not able to concentrate on their studies. When we sponsor a child, we make sure that where possible, their important needs are met. We have also found that boarding schools are the best place for many students.
Monthly support for each child begins at $25 for elementary (Primary), $55 for high school and $175 for university. Funds will provide tuition, school material, clothing, food and accommodation.
We encourage sponsors to visit their sponsored child at any time they are able to.
